We’d been fixing fences and seeding that back field all winter, dreaming of the day it would be ready. When the morning finally came, we slid the gate open and stepped back — and for a moment, nobody moved.
Then one brave goat took a step. Then another. And within seconds the whole herd was pouring through the gap, kicking up dew, running purely for the joy of running. We just stood there and watched, coffee going cold in our hands.
Why space matters
More pasture isn’t a luxury here — it’s health. Room to roam means stronger bodies, calmer minds, and animals that get to behave like animals. Every acre we open is paid for by people who believe these lives are worth the room.
Some mornings the farm gives back more than it asks. This was one of them.

Spring is our favourite season for exactly this reason. Everything that struggled through the cold gets its reward — and so do we, watching them take it.
